Our fellow Americans, we stand before you today on the precipice of another exciting edition of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast! Today, the Marvelous Iggy and Bryan stand before you ready to talk about the real issues: about the release of the main Luke Cage trailer, about the confirmed and rumored casting additions to Spider-Man: Homecoming, and about the rumored choices for Cable and Domino for the sequel to Deadpool. We’re here to talk about the issues that truly matter- the comic book issues, that is, as Iggy delves into Scarlet Witch #9, and Bryan reviews Civil War II: The Accused #1. Moreover, Iggy and Bryan discuss their nominations for President and V.P. of the Marvel Universe- the results may shock and horrify you. We are not like our opponents, dear friends, and so we’ll keep this brief: please subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind word in review, and join us again at the next campaign stop! That’s all for this week, folks, and God bless America!

Episode #239: This Show has Vertigo

10 08 2016

Hello, hello — WHOOOO-oooo-OOOOA! What the hell is going on here? Why, it’s another episode of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, now with less idea of what the hell is going on- in the comic book world, in our own show. In the news this week, the Marvelous Iggy, a.k.a. Ben, leads Bryan and Jon through a colorful discussion despite the lack of actual news happening; though the boys to get around to discussing the return of Doctor Otto Octavius- Doc Ock- to the Marvel proper, the lack of connective tissue between Marvel Studios and Marvel television and the causes thereof, and the much-maligned development of the Gambit solo flick. Meanwhile, in reviews, Jon can’t tell which way is up and which imprint his book is under while reviewing ROM #1 from IDW (Yeah, it’s /that/ kind of a week…), Ben tackles the end of all magic in Doctor Strange #10, and Bryan deals with the end of the first arc in Moon Knight #5. That’s our offbeat show for this week, folks! If you can navigate it, please don’t forget to subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind word in review, and join us again next week when, hopefully, it isn’t such a slow news week…

Episode #238: Geek Culture is Culture

3 08 2016

It’s a Two-Man special episode of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast! With Jon off fending for himself against the angry Asgardian denizens partaking in the local fare of Oklahoma, The Marvelous Iggy, a.k.a. Ben, and Bryan get together to run the gamut of post-SDCC comic book news in the Marvel world! Topics include: Joss Whedon potentially helming a Black Widow solo flick, the current projected release schedule for Marvel & Netflix products, the buggy release of the HD re-releases of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2, and more! Seeing as it is a two-man show, each man reviews two books this week! Iggy tackles Steve Rogers: Captain America #3 and realizes something startling about the layout, and the loss of innocence of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel #9. Meanwhile, Bryan toes the company line and, for a change, praises Bendis’ writing in Civil War II #4, and addresses the fallout from the death of Bruce Banner in Totally Awesome Hulk #9. And that’s our show for this week, folks! Don’t forget to subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind review, and join us again next time for another exciting installment of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast!

Episode #236: The Times, They Are A-Changin’

13 07 2016

Uncork the hard stuff and pass the bottle around, because us old men of the comic book-collectin’ game are drinkin’ whiskey and rye on this episode of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast! The Marvelous Iggy, Jon, and Bryan all lament a bygone era as they list off the new series solicitations for Marvel NOW! 2.0 with waning enthusiasm. There’s no small amount of rage, indifference, and confusion, but maybe it’s just us… maybe it’s our own fault that we can’t recognize the state of our own Marvel U anymore… Ugh, delving into reviews of books that we probably won’t even be reading several months from now, Ben and Iggy talk about Steve Rogers: Captain America #2 and how it pissed everybody off, Jon included, Ben reviews the latest issue of Scarlet Witch #7 all by himself, and Bryan gets by with Civil War II: Kingpin #1. Well, that’s it for us this week, maybe forever depending on how deep we get into these liquor bottles… Join us again next week, maybe, I guess… also, subscribe to our sinking ship on iTunes, rate us okay and write kind review (please?), and then… eh, who knows, who cares… where’s that damn bottle of whiskey… ugh…
